Enamelled Scarf Ring - Small/Winter Blue

Made from a slightly less than 1" OD copper tube, it has been enamelled both on the inside and outside of the tube. For any enamelled piece to be "stable", the glass enamel needs to be applied to both sides of the copper, to prevent warping and the glass enamel from cracking. The enamel on the inside of the tube creates a very smooth surface for the textile to work with, and it is there, that I have added my engraved signature, Ridout '26.

To use this scarf ring, you need to have either a scarf that ends in "points" and is knitted or crocheted with a finer yarn (lace or light fingering) or the fabric is very sheer, like cotton or wool gauze. You place one tip or end of the scarf in one side of the tube and the other tip in on the opposite side. You then pull the tips or ends through to a place that is comfortable to hold the scarf in place around your neck. Each enamelled piece is unique and you will receive this exact piece. Dimensions vary from piece to piece, the dimensions for this particular piece are: just over 1" L x just under 1" OD.
