Meet Daria.

Posted by on Nov 14, 2020

Daria Hirny creates thoughtful greeting cards through playful illustration and high quality letterpress printing. The letterpress technique is my favourite style of handmade cards. I am a huge fan of Daria’s, though I have actually never met her in real life.

When I started putting my Holiday Event idea together, I was doing research on various mediums that I might like to have available to purchase, alongside my jewellery, and cards were at the top of my list. If you know me, you know I love to send “real” mail to people. I have been a “card-sending person” my whole life. I am always purchasing handmade cards from all sorts of different Canadian card makers, so that I have enough on hand all year round. And I’m always on the hunt to discover new card makers.

Daria participated in the July One of a Kind Online Virtual Marketplace this year, and while I was surfing the show site, I discovered her handmade letterpress cards, lovingly made in Edmonton, Alberta.

Homework Letterpress Studio Cards. Designed, illustrated and printed on 100% cotton paper with matching envelopes. $7.00 each.

Daria letterpress prints all her cards by hand – one at a time – in her studio, on her original Heidelberg Windmill. Much like me, she wears “all the hats” and takes care of every aspect of her small business.

Homework Letterpress Studio Holiday Card Set. Five cards with matching envelopes printed on 100% cotton with the blood, sweat and tears of Daria Hirny. $25.00/set

You will find a curated collection of Daria’s letterpress cards and gift tags, available for purchase, at my One of Kind Artisan Holiday Show.

Homework Letterpress Holiday Gift Tags. $2.50 each
